grayling fishing

The first fish I ever caught on the fly, in my early teens, was a grayling on the River Ae, a tributary of the River Annan close to where I grew up. As a result this fine looking species, a member of the salmon family, will always remain close to my heart. In southern Scotland we are blessed with several rivers where real specimens, over the hallowed 3lb mark, can be caught and nowhere more so than the upper Tweed where FishWild is based. What are you waiting for?

Season: All year, though March to May to be avoided (general spawning time).
